Brian Lundgren is a Seattle labor and employment attorney for employers. He is a partner at Davis Grimm Payne & Marra, a boutique labor and employment law firm in downtown Seattle. He practices law exclusively as a management-side labor and employment attorney. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Lundgren served as an infantry squad leader in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he attended Hamline University School of Law in Minnesota where he graduated second in his class, summa cum laude, in 2000.

Mr. Lundgren believes a great lawyer must be familiar with a client’s business. Whether the industry is concrete, construction, distribution, health care, hotels, manufacturing, restaurants, technology, transportation, trucking or warehousing, he works diligently to understand the client’s industry, operations and brand. He works directly with employers, owners, in-house counsel and executive management teams to assist with their traditional labor and employment law needs.

Mr. Lundgren’s traditional labor law practice includes significant National Labor Relations Board experience, arbitration, union elections, collective bargaining, strikes, and advising employers on complex labor relations issues. He acts as lead counsel defending employers against state and federal lawsuits, including whistleblower claims, wage/hour disputes, discrimination, retaliation and harassment claims, wrongful discharge allegations, and similar trial work. He frequently defends employers against charges, investigations and complaints in executive branch agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, State Human Rights Department, United States Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, and Washington Department of Labor and Industries.

Mr. Lundgren successfully applies his legal knowledge and experience to assist his clients with internal and external employment investigations, risk avoidance and compliance matters involving issues such as employment discrimination, workplace harassment, whistleblower retaliation, wrongful discharge, wage and hour laws and regulations, leave rights, prevailing wage issues, labor law compliance, union election campaigns and handbook policy formation.

Mr. Lundgren has been admitted to practice in a number of courts across the country, including the State of Washington, United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and United States Supreme Court.
